Nainital is a popular hill station in the state of Uttaranchal. It is situated at an altitude of 1900 kilometers above sea level. It is located at 29 degree 24’ north latitude and 79 degree 28’ east longitude. The best time to visit the place is during summers and the spring season. Initially, Nainital was nothing but a thick, dense forest and was home to the tribes of Kumaoni race. It was discovered and converted into a hill station by the British in 1839.

Nainital harbors five lakes in its lap: Nainital Lake, Sattal, Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Khurpatal. Amongst all, Nainital Lake is the most prominent one as it surrounded by seven hills in the shape of a necklace.
The hill station provides a picturesque view of many snow-clad peaks of the Himalayan ranges from different points like the Cheena Point and the Snow View Point. It is a place that brings a common man close to the mystical beauty of the Mother Nature. Boating and yachting in the waters of the Naini Lake is the unique feature of this place. One can also visit the famous Naina Devi Temple which is one of the Shakti Peeths of Goddess Parvati.
It is a well-developed hill station with all the basic amenities, goods, and busy marketplaces. One can also find a wide variety of imported stuff at reasonable rates in the Tibetan market. One can enjoy horse and pony riding on the Mall. The best part is that during peak season vehicles are not allowed to ply on the Mall thereby making it traffic-free and pollution-free.
